CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
Matt’s experience in the technology industry and his work with community banks, credit unions, and financial institutions has given him a deep understanding of the role technology plays in today’s financial services marketplace. Matt shares his insights as a contributor to community banking and credit union technology journals such as Mortgage Technology News and Mortgage Banking Magazine, and is a regular speaker at industry events. Before joining ExactBid, he held progressively senior positions with such leading edge companies as D+H, Mortgagebot, and SAP. Matt is a graduate of Duke University, where he studied English literature.

Jamie co-founded the company in 2003 with two other Memorial University postgraduate Electrical Engineering students, Brendan Brothers and Raymond Pretty. Since then he has been establishing the long term vision of the company and leading Verafin’s product development efforts.
He is an industry expert in the application of technology to the detection and prevention of money laundering and fraud and he is dedicated to continuously developing innovative ways to combat financial crime. Equipped with an extensive background in probabilistic networks, behavior based analytics, robotics, he has an expert knowledge of fraud and money laundering detection and the financial industry. As a result, Jamie is frequently asked to speak at a number of anti-money laundering conferences across North America. His focus is often on the convergence of fraud and money laundering detection within financial institutions and the emerging use of advanced technologies to fight financial crime.
Adam Margolin joined Spectrum in May 2005. Prior to joining Spectrum, Adam was a Vice President in Citigroup’s Media & Telecom investment banking group in New York where he focused on M&A, capital raising and restructuring transactions across various sectors. Previously, Adam worked in Citigroup’s Financial Institutions Group in New York and Media Group in London. At Spectrum, Adam has focused on information services, risk & compliance software and data & analytics industry segments.
Adam currently serves on the board of directors of Trintech, and he previously was a board member at Business Monitor International (acquired by Fitch Ratings) and World-Check (acquired by Thomson Reuters).
Adam graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English & American Literature from Harvard University.
Chris Mitchell joined Spectrum in 2001 and has been investing in growth companies since 1995, previously at TA Associates and Monitor Clipper Partners. Earlier, he worked in the mergers and acquisitions group at SG Warburg. At Spectrum, Chris focuses on the information services, financial technology, and software industries.
Chris currently serves on the board of directors of Definitive Healthcare, Tenstreet, Verafin, and Verisys. Previously, he was a board member of BATS Global Markets (acquired by CBOE), Business Monitor International (acquired by Fitch Ratings), Eagleview Technologies (acquired by Vista), Ethoca (acquired by Mastercard), ITA Software (acquired by Google), Seisint (acquired by Lexis Nexis), RiskMetrics (acquired by MSCI), Trintech (acquired by Summit), and World-Check (acquired by Thomson Reuters). Additionally, he is a Director of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Massachusetts Bay and a Trustee of The Roxbury Latin School.
Chris graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (cum laude) in Classics from Princeton University.

Dave Unsworth co-founded Information Venture Partners in 2014. Dave has led investments in Sensibill, eSentire (exited, 2017), Verafin, LendingFront, Knowtions Research, Igloo Software (exited, 2017), Viigo (acquired by BlackBerry) and works closely with portfolio companies like BigID. Dave is focused on fintech and enterprise software and is particularly interested in cybersecurity, mobile, future of work and ventures that create highly valuable data assets by being at the centre of large scale financial transactions.
Prior to founding Information Venture Partners Dave worked as an investor with RBC Venture Partners from 2001. Prior to his career in venture capital Dave had a successful career in operating roles focused on e-commerce strategy development, technology enabled financial services product development, technology project management and retail/commercial financial services.
Dave was granted an MBA from Queen’s University, a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics from Wilfrid Laurier University. He is also a graduate of the NVCA’s Venture Capital Institute and the Rotman SME Board Effectiveness Program.
Steven Woods is co-founder and CTO of Nudge Software, a company focused on helping business professionals maintain and grow their business networks. Prior to Nudge, Steven was Group Vice President, Product Development at Oracle Corporation. Steven joined Oracle through its acquisition of Eloqua, a marketing automation company he co-founded in 2000. Steven has a degree in Engineering Physics from Queen’s University.

Mark Dobbin is the founder and President of Killick Capital Inc., a Newfoundland-based investment firm. Killick was created as a vehicle for Mark’s desire to invest in the aerospace sector, as well as work and invest in Newfoundland and Labrador. He currently serves as a board member for Killick Capital’s portfolio companies. From 2006 to 2008 Mark chaired CHC Helicopter Corporation, then the world’s largest helicopter company, and from 1998 to 2003 he served as Chair and CEO of Vector Aerospace Corporation. Mark is Chair of Innovation and Business Investment Corporation and Co-Chair of Business and Arts NL.
